Day Three

I made this skirt as well! I already posted this horror story. I'm happy I powered through it because I LOVE this skirt!

Daisy wanted to say hello.
What I wore:
Black bow skirt
Grey cardigan - Macys on sale!
Black DKNYC boots
Black cami

Day Two

This was the second skirt I made out of a new online measurement for a pencil skirt. It took a couple of tries to get it right. I finally have my measurements correct. I made 4 of the skirts in the 30 for 30 out of this new measurement technique. Once I got the hang of it, it's really easy! And I love high waisted pencil skirts. 3 out of the 5 I have made have an extra little feature. This one came from this inspiration photo:

And here's mine:
Maybe a summer fabric will work better. But I still like it in the wool. It's just a little heavier so the flair isn't as cute.
I'm starting to take pictures outside! It's finally warm enough and still light when I get home from work. So you will be seeing much more of the yard! Hopefully it will start looking better when the flowers and grass start growing.
I wore:
Lavender pumps
Light purple skirt
Pink sweater with flowers

Day One

Valentines Day was the first day of the 30 for 30 challenge and the main reason I added my red dress to the mix.
Red dress - remake from Goodwill find
Blazer - Vintage from an estate sale
Boots - DKNYC Macys

I thought the rose added a little flair for the day of love.

30 for 30 Challenge

I decided to start a 30 for 30 challenge (later than the rest of the bloggers: http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/p/remixer-list.html) but still same season. I wanted to get one in before it gets hot, hot, hot!

For the 30 for 30 challenge, you select 30 items of clothing (pants, tops, dresses, skirts, shoes) to wear for 30 days. During those 30 days there is no shopping for clothing! This is the perfect time to do this as we are patiently waiting the arrival of our new Explorer and want to save as much money as we can before it arrives. 30 days no shopping for clothes now includes fabric and patterns for clothes. I want to go through the sewing supplies I have and see what I can make. I have a lot of fabric and patterns I had planned on sewing, but got ahead of myself this winter with fun wools from my mom and Estate sales I went to last summer. The 30 days will be an attempt to make different outfits out of clothes I wear every day!

Here are my 30 items:

So I have:
1 pair of jeans
4 dresses
6 skirts
1 blazer
5 cardigans
2 sweaters
3 tops
1 cami
1 white t-shirt
2 pair of pumps
2 boots
2 button down shirts (1 flannel)

Here goes nothing!

Glasses!

I have been having a hard time reading signs that are far away driving so finally went to the eye doctor. I was super nervous because I had never been to the eye doctor before. The doctor said I was obviously near-sighted and glasses when I needed them were the best bet. He said that if you sit at a computer all day, just seeing things up close, your vision slowly adapts to make it better where you need it. So I have great vision close up! But not so good far away. So now here is what I will look like driving at night and watching movies (those are the best examples of things I will need them for for starters. Kellen thinks I should just wear them all the time, but I don't know about that. We'll see).
What do you think? In this picture they look like they are falling off my face, but I think it's the angle. I'm actually really liking them. It takes some getting used to but maybe I will like glasses.
