A couple days in Roanoke

What a cute couple!

An old cute couple!

True happy hikers

I wish we could have a cappuccino now!

I think love is in the air in Roanoke for you Rach!

Grapevine Wreaths

Last week I picked grapes for Gramme and Papap and did a little pruning. I soaked them in a tub until I had a chance to create.

The first one turned out the best. I should have cut more.

I guess I should have made them thicker. Oh well next time!

Fall Quilt Retreat

This was my view from my seat.

2 fall wall hangings I finished!

The front of a table topper I'm making
for Gramme And Papap for Christmas.
Heres the back , I'm making it out of Roy Rogers fabric, its an old tv show the used to watch.

These are 2 Christmas table runners I thought Someone might like for Christmas!

Last but not least, this is the free loot I got just for going! I had such a good time I'm so glad I went!

so busy!

I have been sooo busy lately it seems! this weekend i have not really done anything special since the last couple weekends i have been out of town in georgia and gatlinburg. (the pictures on are on picasa since there are so many of them) Yesterday i made chili, cornbread, apple pie, and two different crock pot meals that i put in the freezer to make easy dinner during the week! they are creamy italian chicken and french dip. I forgot to take pictures of all my baking and most of it has already been eaten! i'll take pics when i make the crock pot meals. the chili, cornbread, and apple pie turned out to be a very good american meal. then today for all the football games i cooked some pasta almost completely then put it in a casserole pan layered with cheese, chili, and cornbread mix on top. i baked it for 35 min on 425 and it was a delicious lunch! i think i like it even more than plain chili! i will make that again when it is a little colder out for sure! i didn't take a picture of that either but i will next time! my saturday has been very relaxing which is exactly what i needed.

i have also been knitting a lot lately but you guys cannot see that until Oct!!

sorry i don't have any pictures for this one!

I guess it's a Lowe's Saturday

So the plan last night was to wake up and start tiling our closet (off our master bathroom). We had tiled the master bathroom right after we bought the house, it used to be carpet, how strange. We were planning on staining the concrete in the closet, but it has been 2 years now and that seems like a crazy idea today. We bought all the tile and grout and mortar and were planning on waking up, eating breakfast and tiling the day away. Of course, nothing in home improvement ever goes as planned.

After breakfast, Kellen went out to the garage to bring everything into the closet to get to work. It seems when we returned the tile saw to my coworker we also gave him the trough, spacers and bucket we used to put the mortar on. Fabulous. So, first trip to Lowe's Kellen went.

He got back and we got started around noon. We tiled and tiled and tiled and then look what happened.
Can you not see? Let me zoom in a little.
We are one tile short. Spots 1 and 2 we have scraps we are fitting in. 1 stupid tile. So Kellen is off to Lowe's again. Then it's definitely going to be a movie night and probably early bedtime. Hope your Saturday is going a little better than ours!

Is it Friday yet?

What I wore today: Green empire waist top, grey pants, flowered cardigan. Easy comfy outfit.
This week has been pretty crazy at work. I am very ready for it to be Friday.
And today is my husband's birthday. Happy Birthday Babe! I thought we were going to go out to eat downtown, but he got home from work and put gym shorts and a t-shirt on, so that's not going to happen. Now I have put it up to the man who can't make a decision to pick where he wants to go / get take out from for his birthday dinner. Exciting night at our house.
I got my first online order of fabric today! Lots of projects to come! The top green is bamboo knit, I'm hoping to make some maternity/nursing pajamas. On the right in the bag is a $10 bag of 15 yards of assorted lining. Bottom left is blue jersey for another maternity top.
The blue and pink on the bottom are for shirts for Kellen. Hopefully they will be nice and he will love them!
Expect some project posts in the near future! Hopefully this weekend I can get some sewing done!

Wrap me up

Just realized I haven't posted this top yet! I made a maternity wrap top out of jersey from a pattern I bought online. Here's the link: http://shop.megannielsen.com/product/mn1003-wrap-around-maternity-top-pdf-sewing-pattern

I love the way it looks and once it is on, the way it feels. The top starts as the wrap portion and goes down to a little below my bra line. Then it is just the 'belt' part, wrapped and wrapped and wrapped. Looks very cute, but by the end of the day, I am usually pretty annoyed. Every time I go to the bathroom, I have to unwrap and rewrap. The 'belt' tails are super long, like 3 yards. But it still looks cute on!
I think I have found a way to make the wrapping a little easier, by doing one side at a time. But it still takes some time. I curled my second day hair with a curling iron and kind of like the semi-wild woman hair look.
Here's some pictures of another day after the gym. Surprisingly all my work out tops are super stretchy and I think they are going to work for my whole pregnancy! The bump is getting pretty big, definitely noticeable now!

But I still can be a fit cute pregnant lady!

A vest: for the baby and me

While my mother in law was in town she bought me this vest. I think it's from bamboo, super soft and comfy. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it pregnant and later. I tied it with a satin ribbon to give a little bump emphasis.
This red stripe shirt might be my favorite shirt. It's nice and long and is a wicking jersey material. My mom and I bought it at a vintage store in Bloomington, IN. It's Betsey Johnson. And it's perfect to fit over my bump!
I made these bibs for the baby awhile back now and forgot to post! Here's the tutorial link: http://www.u-createcrafts.com/2011/05/bapron-tutorial-baby-bib-apron.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+u-createcrafts%2FOlHW+%28Ucreate%29

They are super cute in person. Supposedly they stay on better and cover more than normal bibs. We will see. I made one in strawberries, tomatoes, oranges and fourth of july.
I made them before we knew we were having a girl so didn't want to get too pink. Now I might make more!

Funky zebra

I'm just noticing now how crazy this print is. I love the colors, shades of turquoise and purple. But man, that's a funky zebra print. This is the second  time wearing this dress. I made it out of a linen print especially for maternity but I'm hoping to wear it next summer post baby as well. I'm trying to get wear out of some of my late summer clothes before it gets cold again. This week the high is supposed to be in the low 80s so it could already be fall in Memphis.
I wore my pink wedges. I had to wear closed toe shoes for work today (working on the production floor) and didn't want to be standing in heels all day. I wasn't standing much but just walking is getting to be tiring.
People are really starting to notice my bump. I didn't think it was that noticeable in this dress, but I guess it is.
Pregnancy Pros and Woes of the day:

Woes:
- Starting to get leg cramps
- Still congested
- First bloody nose today, yuck

Pros:
- Baby has moved or grown big enough that he/she can't have his/her foot between my spine and a nerve in my back, so less back pain today!
- I felt a big kick at 10am! I'm hoping Kellen will be able to feel the baby kick tonight!
- We go to the doctor's on Friday to find out if we are having a boy or girl, any guesses?

Stripes and Polka dots

Two of my favorite things to wear. Here's a little outfit catch up. This was last week or the week before. I was trying to get into dressing my baby bump. Funny thing is, at that time, I thought it was a decent sized bump! Now looking back you can hardly see it in the pictures!

First, striped tunic from Target and grey maternity pants. I wore one of the fabric flowers I made on a headband.

And next, probably my favorite outfit so far, black dolman sweater top and white and black polka dot stretch skirt.

My bump would probably be a lot bigger now! Not sure if I'll wear the skirt again, no white after labor day and all. We'll see, if it gets hot again we might throw that rule out the window.
